Once a year the vineyard at Ojai Mountain becomes the dining room: an afternoon at 2,800 feet, where every wine in the glass was grown steps from the table.

Winemaker Erich Bradley leads a seated tasting of six estate wines, among them the debut of the 2024 Estate Tempranillo, the first bottling of the variety from the mountain, and the 2023 Estate Mourvèdre, selected for the Vinous Icons NYC Cool Climate Seminar. The vines are farmed organically, and the wines are made with native yeast and neutral French oak.

Cheese and charcuterie come from Andrew's Cheese Shop in Santa Monica, dinner is a French-inspired buffet, all of it gluten free, and dessert is a pastry table from two LA pastry makers. Bradley has made more than 25 vintages on the mountain.

Seats are limited, and the afternoon ends with sunset over the vineyard. Bring a hat and layers; there is valet on site. Tell Theins you would like to go, and your personal assistant will arrange the seats and the drive up from the city.
