Jeremy Fox's Birdie G's, which closed in Santa Monica at the end of 2025, came back on October 26 at Fairmont Century Plaza, and now it opens for breakfast. It is named for his daughter, Birdie, and his grandmother, Gladys. 'In life, you very rarely get second chances, and in a restaurant even less so,' he told Eater.

The new room, designed with EDG Design, is the 1970s through and through: burnt-mustard banquettes, plaid bar stools, triangle wallpaper and small galleries of vintage magazine covers, a world away from the stone and greenery of the hotel around it.

The Pickle Chick is back, gluten free as ever, with the Hangtown Brei of fried oyster and pork belly and the stained-glass rose petal pie. New are a ribollita on Rancho Gordo beans with a poached egg, a rotisserie chicken, and steak frites in three sizes. Fox calls it bubbe cuisine.

Coffee starts at 6 am, breakfast and lunch run from 6:30 to 2:30, and dinner from 5:30 to 9:30. Mornings bring a cornbread waffle with sweet pepper jam and a smoked fish platter. Stephanie Redding, the original bar director, is consulting on the drinks.

Tell Theins the morning or the night, and your personal assistant will book it.
